Day 7 第七天｜Small Acts of Service / Abundant Grace 小小的服侍 / 大大的恩典

By Peter Yung

Today was the 7th day of our mission trip. We started the day by helping Aroma Church clean the rooms and shared spaces. Since this was our second time helping with cleaning, we were much more familiar with what needed to be done and how to do it. Everyone voluntarily took on different tasks, and with good teamwork and collaboration, we were able to finish everything in around 30–35 minutes.

The work itself was not a large-scale project, but it was still meaningful to us because we knew that we were helping to keep God’s house clean and serving the church in a practical way.

Afterward, we had a prayer meeting together with our team and the Aroma Church staff. It was a wonderful opportunity for us to connect with one another, pray for each other, and walk alongside one another in our journey of following Christ. This also reminded me of something Pastor David shared with us during his workshop on Sunday—the importance of walking together with other Christians in our journey of faith.

After the prayer meeting, we continued preparing for the EC Talk, making final adjustments by adding some things and taking others out. Later, we were given a special task: going outside to reach out to people and invite them to the event.

At first, I was afraid of doing outreach because it was something I had never done before. I had almost no idea how to approach people, and I was scared to take that first step. But then I remembered the words from Deuteronomy 31:6: “Be strong and courageous,” as well as the message God spoke to us through Pastor Andrew on Sunday.

Eventually, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and help serve coffee while inviting people to join us. Most people were probably too busy to stop for a cup of coffee, but we were still able to reach out to a few people. One of them was a father who later brought his son to the EC Talk.

We were so excited to see his son join us for the English conversation, and we thanked God for bringing him to the event. This experience reminded me that serving God is not always about seeing big results. What matters is being willing to take that step, trust Him, and faithfully do what we can.

EC Talk

The EC Talk was the second major event that our team had planned, and it gave us another great opportunity to reach out to and connect with people in Taiwan. Even though Tuesday was a weekday, we were very encouraged to see a handful of people still make the time to join us.

We had many fun conversations and discussions throughout the evening, and we were especially happy to get to know the participants and build connections with them.

I give praise to God for making this event possible. I am also thankful for every team member, as well as the Aroma Church members and staff, who helped prepare and support the event. Through everyone working together, we were able not only to hold a successful EC Talk, but more importantly, to meet, listen to, and connect with people in the local community.

It was definitely a tiring day, but we still found it very fruitful and meaningful. We are thankful for the opportunities God gave us to serve, connect with others, and step outside our comfort zones.

As we enter the remaining days of our mission trip, please continue to pray for our team—for strength and energy, for unity among us, and for God to continue guiding us and using us to serve the people we meet.
